10 greatest Gifts for petrol heads

Are you one of those 80 million people totally at loss when it comes to gifts, to the beloved?

Here is mine, a list of the most delightful, charming, loving presents I received from family and friends.

The reason why we Petrol heads love these useless and sometimes even ugly things so much, is that they make us feel connected. These objects are like an umbilical chord, to our idea of heaven.

1. An original souvenir from Le Mans or the Targa Florio: gets Top ranking for coolness factor!


2. A paper Mache Trophy made by my sons placing me first on the podium. (There is someone who believes in me!)

4. A slot car of a model you really like, especially cool if rare, old or vintage!

4. An original vintage Porsche Poster (can you tell my husband? He has not yet gotten the drift!)

5. Ugly mugs: the only excuse I’ll make for ugliness!


6. The Pirelli calendar. Impossible to get hold of so it’s really a trophy in its own right.

7. Key hangers (YES! I need more than you guys, I’m a woman so naturally I’m loosing my keys ALL THE TIME)


8. Small pieces of art depicting your spleen in such a way that you feel flattered by it. (Yet the rest of the world knows perfectly well, what is really meant!)


9. Cool Stickers, or do you really believe that all these classic racecars are sponsored by all those companies sticking on them?

10. Photobook of yourself racing. A friend gave me a book with Photos at Le Mans Classic and me racing there, now that is thoughtful!!!!
